How to hold yourself accountable so you can reach your goal of learning WordPress or anything for that matter.
When was the last time you challenged yourself by working toward a difficult goal? Did you accomplish it? Many people struggle to set up effective strategies, systems and support.
Below are some questions to help you set yourself up for success and to set yourself boundaries.
1. SET YOUR GOAL
For example, learn how to run your own WordPress site, whether it’s a blog, your business or an online store. Just tell yourself you are ready.
2. IDENTIFY YOU SUPPORT SYSTEM
What type of support do you need to accomplish this goal? Write the names of you support people and how you’d like them to hold you accountable. For example: Google is your friend. Just enter your question and I bet someone has written an article on it.
3. SCHEDULE YOUR TIME
When will you work on this goal? Mark the time in you diary – consider when you are most motivated and do your best work. For example when your mind is fresh just after that first coffee. Not late afternoon when you need a sugar hit!
4. CREATE CONCRETE ACTION ITEMS
What specific action steps will lead you to your goal? Break down each milestone into smaller amounts.
- Learn how to write a page
- Learn how to write a post.
- What connects them and so on.
Be specific but be realistic.
5. TIME MANAGEMENT AND CONSISTENCY
Make sure you check-in with your WordPress diary daily – this will ensure you are keeping accountable. Schedule this in your diary now!
6. RECHARGE AND REVITALISE
What will keep you going as you work towards understanding WordPress – a short walk a coffee break. Take the time to write down how you will recharge and revitalize yourself.
7. YOUR WORK SPACE
What environment do you work best in? Do you need to be organised? Do you need to enlist the help of family and friends to keep you on top of your new learning experience. Enhance your space, create and environment that will fuel you to succeed and propel you towards your goal!
